The tradition of weaving garments for family members has been passed over several generations in Assam. Premlata Dalay hails from Dhemaji district in Guwahati,  where she has been weaving since she was 12.  Today, she is the winner of National Award and has exhibited her works at different exhibitions across India.

Rajkumar Prajapati, son of Devideem Prajapati has been practicing this craft since he was 6. He has learnt the craft from his father who is a State Awardee. Today, Rajkumar along with his father has conducted workshops in Bhopal, Khajuraho, IGNCA and has exhibited their works at different places.


Ankush Kaluram Karmoda ankush
Warli Art, Maharashtra

Ankush Kaluram Karmoda learnt the art from from his mother at the age of 18. He is able to beautifully contemporise the geometric language of Warli to inlcude modern themes and elements such as city life, life under water, etc.  He has also conducted workshops with the Nehru Centre, Mumbai.



Pravakar Das

Pravakar Das has been practicing this art form for past 25 years. His grandfather Guru Maguni Das is a recipient of Padmashree Award and has set up a school to promote art and culture. Pravakar Das has conducted workshops for children between the age group of 6-14 and his works have been exhibited at Chitrakala Parishad, National Museum, Shilparaman and Taj Hotel, Mumbai.
